Project Coordinator

Hailey Colpitts is a project coordinator whose work is driven by a passion for improving the systems that have helped her as both a child and as an adult. Hailey is particularly dedicated to working with public agency staff to increase access to disability-inclusive sexual and health education. Hailey is also highly skilled in child welfare, maternal and child health, program and project coordination and management, and creative problem solving. In addition to supporting clients in disability advocacy and child welfare, they also have deep experience in working with juvenile justice diversion and deflection and freelance writing on topics ranging from reproductive autonomy to violence prevention.

Prior to joining HSRI, Hailey was a program manager at the Illinois Collaboration on Youth, where their work addressed juvenile justice and child welfare systems. Prior to that, she worked as an administrative coordinator on projects related to women’s health, LGBTQ+ rights, and social justice themes more broadly. They led the Inaugural Niles Pride Committee in 2022 and have since been brought on to the OutCenter of Southwest Michigan’s Events and Activities Committee as the Secretary and lead organizer for the Niles Pride, now in its fourth year.

When not at work, Hailey enjoys listening to podcasts (especially true crime), cozying up with a good book, snuggling with their two cats and two dogs, playing with her children, and sipping on a craft beer with her spouse.
