Heather is a research analyst on the Behavioral Health team whose work is driven by a passion for collaborative, inclusive research that is both data-driven and equitable. Heather is particularly dedicated to working with public agency staff to better the systems they are working with by developing shared, equitable goals that can be addressed through mixed-methods research. Heather is also highly skilled in program evaluation, data visualization, data analysis, policy analysis, and communicating results to technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to supporting clients with needs assessments and data analysis, Heather also has experience in working with the communities most impacted by systems, always making sure their voices are centered and uplifted.
Prior to joining HSRI, Heather worked with Disability Lead where she worked towards the mission of enabling people with disabilities to lead with power and influence. Prior to that, while pursuing education, Heather has always pushed for disability to be part of the conversation by urging professors to talk about disability when talking about other identities, by incorporating the topic of disability into all projects and papers (including her thesis) when there was an option to choose a topic, and by advocating for a disability policy course. Heather created an organization called “Thank A Veteran” when she was in 5th grade, and has continued this work since then.
When not at work, Heather enjoys rock climbing, doing puzzles, playing games, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and always learning from visiting new places or having new experiences.
