Greg Forehand is a research associate with the Child, Youth and Family team. He currently works with the Colorado Department of Human Services to evaluate its Title IV-E Waiver Demonstration Project and has overall responsibility for all aspects of this large-scale study. Greg’s current research focuses on family engagement, kinship caregiving for child welfare-involved children, and the long-term effects of childhood trauma. He has previously evaluated a range of federally funded child welfare and education programs, including those stemming from the No Child Left Behind Act, Parental Information and Resource Centers, the Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act, and the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act. He has also evaluated state and locally funded interventions for adolescents at risk of serious delinquency and was a youth and family therapist for a number of years. Greg holds a doctorate in social work and social research from Portland State University.
