Dani Saunders

Data Scientist

Dani is a research analyst whose work is driven by a passion for collaborative and inclusive data-driven practices. She is highly skilled in data management, data analytics, and dashboard development. Dani also enjoys collaborating with stakeholders to develop informative and useful dissemination products.

Prior to joining HSRI, Dani was an epidemiologist at the Ohio Department of Health, where her work focused on overdose injury. Prior to that, Dani worked as a social work intern for a few nonprofits with the goal of improving the psychosocial environment for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder. 

In her free time, Dani enjoys spending time with her husband and mini zoo (3 cats and 2 dogs), hiking, and true crime podcasts.

Education

  • Master of public health with a concentration in health behavior and health promotion from the Ohio State University
  • Master of social work with a concentration in mental health and substance misuse from the Ohio State University
  • Bachelor of science degree in psychology from Lake Superior State University
