NCI Releases Data Brief on Guardianship

According to the 2017-2018 National Core Indicators (NCI) In-Person Survey, states vary widely in the percentage of people with IDD who have a guardian—from 5.5% in one state to 89.0% in another. In their latest Data Brief, the NCI team highlights this variation and examines outcomes for people under guardianship. They also present some initial steps for considering guardianship reform and expanding alternatives like supported decision-making.
