Ryan is a research assistant whose work is driven by a passion for promoting trauma-informed systems for children and families around the United States. Ryan is particularly dedicated to working with public agency staff to better child-serving systems. Ryan is also highly skilled in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
Prior to joining HSRI, Ryan was a research assistant at the University of South Dakota’s Department of Psychology, where he studied the lived experiences of leaving a residential treatment center as a child. Prior to that, Ryan worked as a mental health associate intern at the South Dakota Human Services Center (HSC), an inpatient psychiatric hospital. At HSC, he gained experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
When not at work, Ryan enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, playing video games, and reading.
