Research Analyst

Asante is a research analyst for healthcare reporting on HSRI's Population Health team. His work is driven by a passion for applying statistical methods for effective decision-making. He is particularly skilled at working with healthcare insurance claims databases and outcome studies to report on relevant measures that guide decision makers. He is also highly skilled in data analysis and decision sciences.

His prior work experience includes working for the Big 3 health insurance providers (UnitedHealthcare, Anthem, and Aetna). In these positions, he developed risk stratification and adjustment methods, conducted outcomes studies, interpreted trends, and evaluated program cost effectiveness.

Through self-study, he keeps current on Medicare, HHS (ACA), Medicaid risk adjustment models, and their impact on clients and core business processes. He maintains subject matter expert level in risk adjustment cost, utilization, and healthcare business concepts.

Asante’s career path has equipped him intellectually in developing procedures to analyze structured and unstructured healthcare data and he has managed projects related to risk adjustment analytics and financials.
He has engaged in presenting analyses and interpretation for operational and business review and planning.
He has also worked in the academic space as an adjunct faculty, teaching research methods and statistics.

When not at work, Asante enjoys spending time reading and traveling.
