Katie Howard is a research associate at HSRI, focusing on projects related to medical claims data. She is currently working on the Maine Health Data Warehouse project as well as the CMS grant for the State of Maine Data Center Enhancement to Improve Health Cost Transparency awarded to the Maine Health Data Organization. In addition, she consults with states on projects related to resource allocation and community support for individuals with disabilities through Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Waiver programs. Her prior work at HSRI includes evaluations of federal projects related to HIV, hepatitis, and substance abuse prevention in minority communities. She holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in sociology with honors from the University of Oregon.
