"In 1989, the Ohio State Legislature charted a bold, new course in human services by providing the means to create individualized supports for its citizens with developmental disabilities. This "Supported Living" agenda represents the promise of an exciting opportunity for citizens with disabilities to participate in the "good life" that many of us without disabilities enjoy: living with the people we love, in the homes that we choose and experiencing the fulfillment of friendship and community involvement."
