Technical Assistance Provider to CMS 2004 Real Choice Systems Change Mental Health Transformation Grantees
This project provided ongoing technical assistance and training opportunities to 10 states awarded grants in the mental health area. The purpose was to improve the ability of States to offer evidence-based and recovery-oriented services to consumers with mental illnesses with support of the Medicaid system. Flexible on-demand technical assistance was paired with structured team learning to foster grantee understanding of systems change, consumer direction, and key technical and operational aspects of topic areas. HSRI provided technical assistance and training opportunities to the 10 states awarded grants in the mental health area. The project staff managed technical assistance efforts focused on the implementation of peer provided services, evidence-based practices, policy briefs to help with local implementation, and regional trainings on implementation, workforce and self-determination.
