National Youth Leadership Network Reap What You Sow
Through a subcontract from the National Youth Leadership Network (NYLN), HSRI provided collaborative support to implement a grant funded by the US Administration on Developmental Disabilities. The purpose of the grant was to build an alliance between individuals with disabilities and their family members to guide changes in family support policy and practice from the perspective of youth and young adults with disabilities. The project resulted in the Reap What You Sow: Harvesting Services and Supports Curriculum for national distribution and a related conference to train people how to use the curriculum in their communities. Young people and adults with disabilities, family members, friends, teachers, community support providers, and others were invited to attend. Primary curriculum topics include power, engaging youth and family members in their communities, and systems of society.
