National Center for Family Support at HSRI

The National Center for Family Support @HSRI provided timely training and technical assistance to 17 state Family Support Projects funded by the US Administration on Developmental Disabilities. These Projects promoted activities in each state to develop, expand or enrich a family-directed system of support for families of children with disabilities. The National Center for Family Support @HSRI was a collaborative effort that combined the resources of the Human Services Research Institute and a diverse group of individual consultants, including family members and professionals who bring unique experiences and expertise to the project. The training and technical assistance offered to state grantees was designed to impart knowledge, promote understanding, encourage family self-determination and control, build skills, and facilitate collaborative problem-solving related to Family Support policy and practice.
